I develop flight control software for real time trajectory operations at NASA Mission Control Center. I support all phases of the development cycle from requirements analysis to post-delivery anomaly investigations. I work one-on-one with NASA flight controllers to tailor software to their specific needs.

In my time at NASA I have worked on four major projects. I was an assistant developer on my first project that lasted approximately one year, and helped the lead developer with process-related documentation and code-cleanup.

My first project as lead developer involved porting a GUI from an older, proprietary language to TCL/TK. The two-man project lasted two years and was delivered on time and on budget. During that project I also wrote an additional new application in TCL/TK that also delivered on time with zero defects.

For the last two years I have been the lead developer for two Java applications used for real-time flight analysis. The applications use Java Swing for the GUI framework and custom Java libraries for back-end processing. This project is part of a much larger software initiative to replace and update existing flight software in the Mission Control Center.

In addition to software development, I support company-wide SEI/CMM assessment activities. I develop software engineering tools and templates, and have membership in several process improvement groups that impact various levels of the USA organization.
