SR. ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNER WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Our client is an esteemed member of the Environmental Design/Landscape Architecture community that works heavily with government entities in Environmental planning and assessment. They are looking for two seasoned and highly skilled candidates with extensive experience with EIS reports. One candidate would ideally have a strong background in renewable energy, while the other candidate would have a strong technical writing and review background for NEPA documents.

Education/Experience Requirements:
Must have a Masters Degree in Environmental Science or related field with twelve or more years of consulting or agency experience or equivalent combination.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM Environmental Planner IV JOB DUTIES:
Skills:
- Demonstrates independence, maturity, and soundness of judgments in making major decisions related to
- complex and/or politically sensitive projects.
- Demonstrates the core values of the firm in execution of duties (i.e. is a consistent role model).
- Demonstrates excellent technical written and verbal communication and public speaking skills.
- Demonstrates excellent use and knowledge of firm’s word processing, spreadsheet, financial reporting,
- and data management systems.
- Demonstrates excellent use and knowledge of the following: Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act,
- National Historic Preservation Act, Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act, and Title IV.
Physical Demand:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate clearly to others.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines, working overtime if necessary.
- Must have a valid local driver’s license and a vehicle for local travel, as requested.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures on steep, rocky, uneven terrain.

Job Description:
Essential Duties:
These duties may vary depending on job assignment and firm needs.
- Serves as a lead technical person and senior reviewer for large and technically complex projects.
- Independently prepares complex NEPA and technical reports including environmental assessments and
- Environmental impact statements. (needs extensive experience with at least 4 EIS statements throughout your career, for one position and greater then 8 for the other position)
- Assures that work produced meets standards of the profession, client, and firm.
- Develops service line standardized procedures to improve environmental team’s operational efficiency and
- Leads training presentations.
- Consistently follows technical quality standards and quality control program in completion of project work.
- Fulfills Client Relationship Manager role with clients as assigned.
- Fulfills Project Manager role on projects as assigned.
- Consistently meets scope, schedule, and budget obligations or informs the Project Manager in advance if for any reason these obligations cannot be met.
- Obtains approval from the Project Manager before beginning work on all out-of-scope services or incurring time or expense on a project.
- Writes articles, attends conferences for marketing/business development purposes, and makes conference presentations.
- Serves as lead technical resource in the development of proposals and acts as supporting presenter in interviews for large, complex projects.
- Demonstrates expertise in an area of technical focus.
- Updates professional resume quarterly.
- Mentors technical and professional development of Environmental Planner I-III.
- Demonstrates the ability to organize, lead, and supervise the work of and perform successfully as an
- Environmental Planner I-III, including providing feedback about project progress and quality, or other performance-related information.
- Performs other duties as assigned commensurate to the level of education and experience.
